March Break Program
March Break Program is a fun exciting winter activity that we use to provide newcomer youth, to explore some new skills such as leadership, communication, and social networking skills. In the past, we have implemented some great collaborations in the community, for example:
- Canadian Historical Guided Tour at Scarborough Musuem of Arts
- Sugar Bush Tour at Black Creek Community Farm
- Learn to Camp at YMCA Cedar Glen
- Rock Climbing activity at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre
- Tour of University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus
- Digital Storytelling, Media Camp
- Art Engagement Workshops to address Mental Health
- Volunteering and much more!
This unique program is free of charge for any eligible TDSB/TCDSB newcomer high school student living in Scarborough. As a newcomer youth, experiencing the March break program will provide great opportunities to learn the different ways to participate in Canadian culture, make new friends, build onto some skills and have some fun.
